- Be sure to get your salt-water fishing license and Salmon stamp prior to the morning of your charter. You can buy these in Ucluelet at the Canadian Princess Resort or at Island West Resort at the end of Bay Street. You can also purchase your license on-line (see the "Links" section for more information).
- It is recommended that you dress in layers, so you can adjust to different temperatures and conditions. You can get very warm reeling up a Halibut from the deep along with action packed flurries when the Salmon are on the bite.
- Rain gear should be on hand for any windy, foggy, or rainy conditions. We have plenty of dry storage on board for any layers that aren't in use.
- Although you may get a sunny day and remain totally dry, wear footwear that could get wet. Rubber boots are a good idea, but aren't always necessary. Running shoes or casual, soft-bottom footwear are usually fine. Hard-bottom hiking or cowboy boots will be very slippery on a wet deck.
- On 8 hour trips bring your own lunches, snacks, and beverages in a medium-sized cooler. You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages.
- Bring large coolers to transport your fish unless you are getting all your fish canned or smoked. You can leave these empty coolers in your vehicle until we return. Quality ice is available nearby.
- It's a good idea to have sunglasses and sunscreen as it can get very bright on the water.
- You may want a camera or video for your catch as well as all the wildlife and scenery you'll encounter.
- You are welcome to bring your own fishing gear, providing it's suitable for the fish and method of fishing. All equipment is provided.
